- I had the chance to attend the AIA Conference 2025 in Boston
Over a month ago, I had the chance to attend the AIA Conference 2025 in Boston, and it was an incredible experience — both professionally and personally. As the BIM lead at Proyectos Engineering, it was a great opportunity to learn about innovation, new workflows, and current trends in architecture and digital design. It gave me fresh ideas and a broader perspective to bring back to our projects. Big thanks to Proyectos Engineering and Uruguay XXI for making this possible — and to all the amazing people I got to meet and exchange ideas with during the event!
- We are not in the business of selling engineering hours;
we do something more important... helping our clients achieve success in every project they undertake. That´s why 85% of our sales are from repeat customers. Get in touch to discuss how we can help you guarantee project success. https://www.proyectos-engineering.com/schedule-meeting
- European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group (EHEDG) is the global authority on hygienic design for the #Food & #Beverage industry.
That's why our Sector Lead, Felipe Martínez de haedo, recently immersed himself in their Advanced Hygienic Design Training Workshop in Costa Rica. This training allows us to continue providing significant, tangible benefits for our clients in the Food & Beverage sector through our expert, independent & multi-disciplinary approach: -Enhanced Food Safety & Quality: We can work with plant teams to make strategic design choices that eliminate microbial harborage points, significantly reducing contamination risks and safeguarding your product integrity. -Reduced Operational Costs: By optimizing CIP (Clean-in-Place) systems based on EHEDG principles, we've helped clients achieve significant reductions in cleaning time and chemical usage. -Increased Production Efficiency: One client saw their available production time increase after implementing our hygienic design recommendations—all without requiring major capital investment. The workshop provided a powerful blend of theoretical knowledge and practical, hands-on experience, insights we're already integrating into our active projects. - 🔷 EPC contractors in the process industry face a tough challenge.
Bidding on projects requires solid engineering — but: ✅ Too many bids, and your team is stretched thin. ✅ Too few, and you risk being left out. ✅ And if you don’t engineer properly, you either lose… or win with the wrong numbers. That’s where Proyectos Engineering comes in. We partner with EPC contractors across North and Latin America, providing the technical independence, multidisciplined & experienced engineering support you need — when you need it, with the flexibility to compete and win projects in the hashtag#Process sector. Let us help you bid smarter, reduce risk, and stay competitive. 📩 Get in touch to learn how we can support your next bid.
- "We're not BIM modelers; we're engineers who design as BIM natives."
This distinction might seem subtle, but it's the difference between project success and costly failure. Last month, I reviewed a beautifully rendered hashtag#BIM model for a chemical plant expansion. The visualization was impressive - perfect for presentations. But upon deeper inspection, our team at Proyectos Engineering identified several critical flaws in piping and structural design principles that would have led to failures under operational conditions. The model looked right. The engineering was wrong. At Proyectos Engineering, we've learned through delivering 200+ industrial projects in the hashtag#Process sector that ignoring the engineering fundamentals behind the model leads to three predictable disasters: 1) Technically unsound designs that fail in real-world conditions 2) Budget hemorrhages from unforeseen technical issues discovered too late 3) Operational nightmares post-construction requiring expensive retrofits Don't risk your next project on mediocre modeling wrapped in pretty renderings. Your stakeholders deserve designs that work, built on genuine engineering expertise. What's your experience with the gap between modeling and engineering?
- For Pulp & Paper plants, downtime isn't an option. 💸
Industrial maintenance departments frequently face hurdles that demand a level of comprehensive engineering analysis and design expertise they simply don't have in-house. At Proyectos Engineering, we're the specialists they can rely on. We bring world-class tools, extensive experience, and crucial technical independence to uncover the root cause of issues, eliminating costly guesswork. Our recent project demonstrates this perfectly: a collaborative effort from our hashtag#PipeStressAnalysis and hashtag#PipingDesign teams, leveraging cutting-edge tools to deliver precise solutions. With a track record of over 500 brownfield design projects in the hashtag#Pulp sector, we ensure our clients can focus on what they do best – production. - "Climate change continues unabated." - Ray Dalio, How Countries Go Broke, 2025
No single country or organization can solve climate change. But we can all do our part. We are proud to have implemented our BIM-integrated Carbon Footprint service, using One Click LCA to assess and reduce timber construction carbon footprints at MEVIR. With backing from Instituto Interamericano de Cooperación para la Agricultura (IICA) and FONPLATA and working with our wonderful partners, we were able to implement and train users on how to measure and reduce carbon footprint in the timber building sector. - 🎉 We're proud to share that our very own Jazmín Aguerre, is representing us at the The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Conference on Architecture & Design 2025! 🇺🇸🏛️
This global gathering of architecture and design leaders is a space to exchange ideas, explore innovation, and push the boundaries of what’s possible. Jazmín’s participation reinforces our commitment to world-class design, collaboration across borders, and the continuous professional growth of our team. We believe great engineering and architecture go hand in hand—and we’re excited to keep learning and contributing to a better-built environment. Let’s connect if you’re at #AIA2025!
- Food recalls ruin brands.
For 20+ years, Proyectos Engineering has kept our clients out of the headlines. 80 projects. Zero hygiene compromises. To raise the bar, our lead Felipe Martínez de haedo will attend the EHEDG Hygienic Design course. It runs at CITA-UCR, 24-26 June 2025. Why should you care? Because every new insight we gain turns into: • Safer processing lines. • Faster, easier cleaning. • Lower water and energy bills. In short, less risk and more profit for your Food & Beverage plant. If “good enough” hygiene isn’t good enough for you, let’s talk.
- For more than 20 years and 80+ projects, Proyectos Engineering has been dedicated to providing Food & Beverage firms with cutting-edge integrated design services in hygienic design.
As part of this commitment, our sector leader Felipe Martínez de haedo will be participating in the Advanced Hygienic Design course, certified by EHEDG, from June 24–26, 2025, at CITA – University of Costa Rica. This focused training will deepen our expertise in crucial areas such as food safety, hygienic equipment, cleaning systems, and sustainability. This investment in specialized knowledge will directly translate to Proyectos Engineering's enhanced ability to help your Food & Beverage business achieve: -Higher standards of hygiene and food safety. -More efficient and cost-effective operations. -Sustainable and environmentally sound practices.
- Thanks, NY Build 2025, for an insightful event!
I had the opportunity to represent hashtag#ProyectosEngineering at Javits Center and explore how AI is transforming Project Management and Architectural Design. Discussions focused on integrated design, ensuring that technology enhances rather than replaces creativity. The Adapt & Reuse approach was also a key topic, emphasizing the importance of sustainable, long-term solutions. Additionally, strong Project Management remains essential to effectively integrate AI and data-driven processes while maintaining leadership, efficiency and design intent. Looking forward to seeing how these ideas evolve and shape the industry in the coming years.
